Im a stream-of-consciousnesses type of person so bare with me and the informality of this (if anyone is actually reading this).
This is just a thought that I want to Go more in-dept and develop it more thoroughly.
Hip-Hop music, Where should I begin ok here we go ....Goodnight everyone
There was a time before Hip-hop got as big as it is, when it was common for the black community saying " The Man is Keeping us Down". More and more this resonates in my head and then while listening to the shit thats called radio and I feel like Im being advertised a facade. These rappers have been talking about Cars that they cant pronounce or put to use correctly (you dont buy a Rolls Royce to drive its a car to be driven in), telling us how much better they are than everyone else, How not to love them hoes, Calling women Hoes Bitch and objectifying them, I can go on for days. And then I start to notice how some of us buy expensive clothes,cars,phones ect., while on food stamps, Welfare, living in a housing project. I am not passing judgement on anyone I dont live no one elses life but my own but I like to theorize and the trigger that led to this train of thought was the word housing PROJECT. And then I see the great influence Hip-Hop has over our culture and its listeners and its like "The Man" chose some supervisors that look just like us, walk just like us, Talk like us, and gave them some tools to keep us aspiring for what is unattainable and dismissing what we allready posses, those tools I consider to be Money And Pro-Tools keeping our ears ringing making us deaf so we cant hear the truth.
